Matte Finishes on Fixtures and Finishes

Not all that glitters is gold, interior design gold, that is. Sometimes a finish needs the clean matte look to tie a space together. From matte subway tiles to matte black countertops and even dining utensils, we love are placing this look On the edestal.

We aren't matte about the weekend. Matte tiles and paints and finishes make a space instantly modern and updated. We are notice a massive trend in taking inherited pieces and using a matte chalky finish to update it and make it lighter and airy in a space. But don't think the lights have it all-- matte works in darks too. Matte makes for a great accent in the backing of shelves or as a counter tops. Matte is a very sleek, sophisticated way to add something more contemporary, but not too far from the traditional.

Mattes are just for the neutrals (but they certainly look fab!). Mattes take the cotton candy pastels and make them go from girlish to glam and updated in an instant. Dainty is anchored down in sophistication with a matte finish and we love getting to place matte finishes On the Pedestal.

There is something really understated and, yet, dazzling about matte finishes with lighting. Maybe it's the balance between the light and the flat finishes, but they have a ultra fab vibe. We love the flat matte exteriors and the gold flake interior as much as we love the rustic matte chandelier. We are mad about matte!
