Mad About Plaid

As the seasons roll into fall, colors and textures become richer, but so do our patterns. We are mad about plaid this season, and not much more gets classic than plaid. This print has stood the test of time in both interior design, and in fashion. September is a perfect time to start rolling into autumn and plaid is a way to transition with the rich shades of fall.

The time honored pattern is well beloved across generations, styles, and space. From classic to contemporary, plaid is anything but plain. A pop of plaid in a throw pillow or an accent wall with plaid wallpaper are sure ways to amp up a space. We love seeing micro plaids mixed with a larger sister print for an unexpected combination. And when it comes to unexpected, plaid doesn't have to stay in the traditional blues and reds-- brightly shaded patterns work well too!

Nothing makes us want to pick apples and drink cider like plaid. While our weather here in Houston isn't calling for wools and boots yet, we are diving headfirst into the plaid pool in wardrobe! Plaids in lighter materials like cotton allow for breathing, but fall shades and tones. Just like the decorative pillow or lampshade in a room, we are placing plaid accessories On the Pedestal with plaid. Shoes and purses are a fab way to incorporate this tried and true look into an outfit that just calls for something more.
