Color of the Month: Mustard

Pass us the Dijon, whole grain, and classic yellow-- we want an extra helping of mustard. Placing this darker honey hue On the Pedestal is right on trend, but also a classic. Like the shades of turning leaves, this color turns out heads! Mixing it in with our wardrobes and interior design makes this a fabulous golden shade.

Nestled somewhere between sunshine and tangerine, with hints of green undertones resides our beloved autumn favorite: mustard. Mustard is a warm hue, and it brings life into any space it falls into. It's got more edge than butter, but gentler than fire, dijon delights as an accent or as a primary shade in any space. We love dining chairs and headboards in this unexpected shade. Couches and even paint colors are fab and bring sunshine warmth, but because of the green undertones it plays well with cool shades and neutrals too.

Your closet looks like it needs some mustard to spice things up. Whether your ensemble has just a drizzle or awash in mustard, goldenrod is the fall flavor for everyone. Adding a scarf to even the simplest of jeans and tee brings all the right shades of fallen leaves and candlelight in a delicate accessory. Or go all out with this golden fur coat for full on fall fabulousness.

Don't think mustard is for fall only! We love it paired with so many shades and styles. With raspberry it looks chic and feminine, like a flat in Paris; with browns and black is modern; and with pastels it is mod and midcentury. Mustard is the shade of yellow that yields to all seasons, styles, and designs.
